Eoin Colfer's 'The Wish List' is a bitter yet
rip-roaringly funny tale of two teenagers on the road to hell -
literally.
Meg is in trouble. Along with
her partner in crime, Belch, she ends up in a very tricky situation
after a botched attempt to rob a pensioner's flat.
Meg's soul is up for grabs as
the divine and the demonic try every underhand ploy imaginable to claim
it.
Her only chance of salvation is the Wish List. I would
suggest this story is more adult in its appeal as the under 11's may not
fully understand some of the jokes that can be quite border-line.
Leaving this aside, however, it is a cracking read and another masterly
work by Eoin Colfer. I
believe Artemis Fowl fans will
love this story even though it is different. Showing a fantastic
imagination with a masterful ability with words - this can only be -
Eoin Colfer.
