Born to live on Planet Earth

Born to multiply by birth,

Rainbows, dreams and re-creation.

As we ponder,

As we see our world in wonder,

And explore each other's nation.

Why then, reach for stars above,

Not satisfied with what we have or are,

Those brave, brave astronauts

Who battle to make history.

Should we be happy to leave

Alone the mystery?

Why the so determined race

To beat each other into space,

Why so urgent to explore

Never is enough, always wanting more.

Is it simply earth-mans' greed?

Perhaps another pointless need.

Makes one wonder does it not,

Why not simply scrap the lot?

Pursue instead to feed the poor,

How wonderful to want, no more.
