The Night the Baby was Born
They looked all over
for a place to stay,
They had travelled long
and were tired that day
A Baby was
about to be born
And all they needed was
a place to be warm.
They went to
every inn in town,
but there was no
room that could be found.
To a stable they
were sent that night,
And there they stayed
under the stars so bright.
Mary gave birth to
a Son where she lay,
The Saviour of the earth
was born amidst the hay
The shepherds they
came to worship the King,
And the wise men brought
gifts bearing every good thing.
He was called Jesus,
as the angel had said,
He was the Son of God
born in a place without a bed
Such a humble beginning
for One who would be,
The sacrifice of God
for our eternity.
There were no doctors,
no delivery room,
No nursery waiting,
just the light of the moon
He didn't go home
to a crib of pastels
Instead He walked the earth
with a message to tell.
You see, the baby that was
born that night in the stable
Is still here today,
He is not just a fable
We celebrate His birth
each year on Christmas day,
But in our hearts EVERYDAY
is where He longs to stay.
So this year, as you are
looking for the gift that is just right,
Don't forget the Saviour who
was born to bring us Light.
We would have been lost
and forever bound in sin
Had he not been born that night,
when there was no room in the inn.
